Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of integrating Islamic values into a multicultural-based mathematics learning model on improving students’ motivation and learning outcomes. The study employed a mixed-method approach using quasi-experimental and qualitative descriptive designs. The research population consisted of 60 third-semester students of the Islamic Economics Study Program at IAI Miftahul Ulum Pamekasan, enrolled in the Mathematics for Economics and Business course. Data were collected through learning motivation questionnaires, pretest–posttest assessments, and in-depth interviews. The results revealed that integrating Islamic values with multicultural-based learning increased students’ motivation by 25.4% and learning outcomes by 31.7%. The t-test indicated a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (t = 7.45; p < 0.05). The integration of Islamic principles—such as balance, justice, and honesty—within the economic context strengthened students’ learning meaning and spiritual awareness toward mathematics.
