Publication Ethics

Fintech: Journal of Islamic Finance is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. This statement is based on the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and serves as a guideline for all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher.

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere. All sources must be properly cited, and any use of others’ work must be appropriately acknowledged. Authors are required to: Present accurate and objective data without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation; Avoid plagiarism in all forms; Disclose any potential conflicts of interest; Ensure that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the research; Provide proper acknowledgment of funding sources and institutional support.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editorial decisions must be free from discrimination based on gender, religion, ethnicity, or political beliefs. Editors must: Ensure a fair and unbiased peer-review process; Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts; Avoid conflicts of interest in handling submissions; Take appropriate action when ethical concerns or misconduct are identified.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers Reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of the journal. They are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of manuscripts. Reviewers should: Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript under review; Evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit and clarity; Identify relevant published work that has not been cited; Declare any conflicts of interest and decline the review if necessary.

4. Publication Misconduct The journal strictly prohibits all forms of publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and unethical research practices. Any allegations of misconduct will be investigated thoroughly following COPE guidelines. If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions will be taken, including: Rejection of the manuscript; Retraction of published articles; Notification to the authors’ affiliated institutions if necessary.

5. Plagiarism Screening All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism detection using reliable software. Manuscripts with a high similarity index or evidence of plagiarism will be rejected immediately.

6. Conflict of Interest All participants in the publication process must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation.

7. Ethical Oversight Research involving human participants, sensitive data, or ethical risks must comply with applicable ethical standards and, where necessary, obtain approval from a relevant ethics committee.
